RMU Women's Soccer Set to Host PFW and IU Indy in Horizon League Action

MOON TOWNSHIP, Pa. – The RMU women's soccer team will host Purdue Fort Wayne on Thursday, September 26 at 4:00 PM and IU Indy on Sunday, September 29 at 1:00 PM. Both matches will be broadcast live on ESPN+ with Spencer Witt calling the action and Joey Jirmasek joining as an analyst for Thursday's game.
 
RMU LATELY
RMU (2-4-3, 1-1 #HLWSOC) opened Horizon League play with a 2-1 win at Oakland, followed by a 2-1 loss to Detroit Mercy. Graduate forward Haleigh Finale scored in both matches, while senior midfielder Carson Bogan netted her first career goal—an Oakland game-winner off an Ava Trethewey corner kick. Finale and Paloma Swankler lead the Colonials with three goals and one assist each, tied for fifth-most in the conference.
 
ALL-TIME VS. PURDUE FORT WAYNE
The Colonials are 1-6-1 against Purdue Fort Wayne since 2015, with their lone victory coming in 2020 with a 4-2 win at home. Finale has one career goal against the Mastodons.
 
SCOUTING PURDUE FORT WAYNE
PFW (6-3-1, 1-0-0 #HLWSOC) has started strong with six wins in 10 games, including a 1-0 conference victory over Cleveland State. Offensively, 14 different players have recorded points, with Gigi Ricciardi leading the way with two goals and one assist. Goalkeeper Jordan Imes has earned five wins, four shutouts, and 43 saves in nine starts.
 
ALL-TIME VS. IU INDY
RMU has faced IU Indy three times since joining the Horizon League, holding a 0-2-1 record against the Jaguars.
 
SCOUTING IU INDY
IU Indy (2-6-1, 1-0 #HLWSOC) enters the week with a 2-1 Horizon League win over Cleveland State. Sophomore forward Caroline Kelley leads the team with four goals and one assist, while Emma Frey and Maia Ransom have three assists each. Senior goalkeeper Ashton Kudlo has two wins, one clean sheet, and 39 saves in nine starts.
 
ACROSS THE HORIZON
RMU ranks third in the Horizon League in goals, averaging 1.22 per game, and leads the conference with 13 assists in nine matches. Defensively, RMU has allowed just 13 goals, placing them second in the conference in goals allowed.
