RMU Women's Hockey Begins 2025 Hosting Yale

MOON TOWNSHIP, Pa. – The RMU women's hockey team returns from a three-week break to host Yale in a non-conference series to kick off 2025. The series begins on Friday, January 3 at 7:00 PM, with the finale on Saturday, January 4 at 3:00 PM. Saturday's game will air live on SportsNet Pittsburgh, and both games will stream on FloHockey. Gero von Dehn and Bob Kennedy will provide commentary for the series.
 
RMU LATELY
The Colonials (6-12-2, 0-7-1 #AHA) ended 2024 on a high note with a tie and a win at LIU in non-conference play. Lucy Phillips started the series opener, making 21 saves and stopping three straight shootout attempts to secure the shootout win after Janelle Evans netted the lone shootout goal. In the second game, Maggie Hatch earned the victory with 22 saves. Forward Morgan Giannone contributed a goal and an assist across the series, while defenseman Kaitlyn Schooley tallied two assists. Laura Eustace and Ashlyn Ham also added their first goals of the season in the series finale.
 
LEADING THE NATION
The Colonials are leading the NCAA in blocked shots with 361 this season, averaging 18.1 per game. Graduate captain Allyson Hebert tops the nation individually with 54 blocked shots.
 
ALL-TIME VS. YALE
The Colonials and Bulldogs have faced off twice, with RMU winning both matchups. The first meeting, in 2011, saw RMU take a 1-0 victory in Connecticut, with Thea Imbrogno scoring the game-winning goal. The teams met again in 2012, with the Colonials securing a 2-0 win on goals from Kristen Richards and Kyle St. Louis.
 
SCOUTING THE BULLDOGS
Yale (7-6-2, 5-6-1 #ECAC) will play for the first time in a month, coming off a split series against Union (3-1 win) and RPI (3-1 loss). Junior forward Carina DiAntonio leads the Bulldogs with seven goals, eight assists, and 15 points. Forward Jordan Ray has a team-high three power-play goals. On defense, three players have registered 14 blocked shots each. Senior goaltender Pia Dukaric has appeared in 15 games, earning seven wins with a .923 save percentage and one shutout.
 
UP NEXT
After their final non-conference series, RMU will return to AHA action with a two-game set at Lindenwood on January 10-11.
