MOON TOWNSHIP, Pa. – The RMU women's hockey team hits the road for a two-game series against Mercyhurst this weekend. The opener is set for Friday, January 24 at 6:00 PM, with the finale on Saturday, January 25 at 1:00 PM. Fans can catch both games live on FloHockey.
RMU LATELY
The Colonials (8-15-3, 2-8-2 #AHA) are coming off a series split with RIT at Clearview Arena. RMU dropped the opener 2-0 but mounted an impressive comeback in the second game, rallying from a three-goal deficit to secure a 5-4 overtime win. Key contributors included:
Emma Goding,
Catriona Crarer,
Morgan Giannone, and
Mya Neugent, each tallying a goal and an assist.
Mya Neugent netted the game-winning goal in overtime.
Mya Kearns recorded a season-high five blocked shots in the finale. In net, sophomore
Maggie Hatch played both games, making an impressive 43 saves in the overtime victory.

Since 2005, the Colonials and Lakers have faced off 83 times. Earlier this season in Moon Township, Mercyhurst secured a sweep, winning 2-0 and 5-0.
SCOUTING THE LAKERS
Mercyhurst (13-12-1, 8-4-0 #AHA) comes into the weekend receiving votes in the national polls. They recently fell 5-1 to No. 2 Ohio State but had previously gone on a six-game win streak, sweeping Lindenwood, Syracuse, and Saint Michael's.

- Vanessa Upson: Leads the team with 18 assists and 24 points.
- Julia Schalin: Freshman forward with a team-high 10 goals.
- Makayla Javier: Junior defenseman with 39 blocked shots.
- In goal, graduate netminder Jorden Mattison has been a reliable presence, earning eight wins in 16 appearances with a .928 save percentage.
