MOON TOWNSHIP, Pa. – Despite a record-setting night for multiple players, the Robert Morris Volleyball team dropped a heartbreaker to IU Indy, falling 3-2 (25-21, 25-27, 25-23, 24-26, 15-11) in a Horizon League matchup on Saturday evening at the UPMC Events Center.
The Colonials has three players recording double-doubles.
Natalie Stepanovich led the charge with a season-high 18 kills and 10 digs. She was joined by
Jocelyn Jourdan, who posted 13 kills and 14 digs, and
Tia Schultz, who achieved the first double-double of her career with 10 kills and a career-high 10 digs.
Setting the table for the potent RMU attack was
Kaitlyn Brown, who orchestrated the offense with a career-high 52 assists. Her efforts helped
Azra Eric achieve a career-best 15 kills.

Set 1: IU Indy 25, Robert Morris 21
The opening set was a back-and-forth affair with nine ties and three lead changes. IU Indy was able to pull away late, securing a 25-21 victory to take a 1-0 lead in the match. The Jaguars' defense was strong at the net, recording seven blocks in the set.
Set 2: Robert Morris 27, IU Indy 25
The Colonials stormed back in the second set, winning a nail-biter 27-25. The set was another tightly contested battle with nine ties and two lead changes. RMU's offense came alive in this set, with
Natalie Stepanovich and
Azra Eric leading the attack.
Set 3: IU Indy 25, Robert Morris 23
IU Indy regained the momentum in the third set, winning another close one 25-23. The Jaguars' offense was firing on all cylinders, recording 18 kills in the set. Despite a late push from the Colonials, IU Indy was able to hold on and take a 2-1 lead in the match.
Set 4: Robert Morris 26, IU Indy 24
Facing a must-win situation, the Colonials showed their resilience in the fourth set. In a set that featured 15 ties and six lead changes, Robert Morris was able to outlast IU Indy, winning 26-24 to force a decisive fifth set.
Jocelyn Jourdan and
Tia Schultz were instrumental in the comeback, making key plays down the stretch.
Set 5: IU Indy 15, Robert Morris 11
In the final set, IU Indy jumped out to an early lead and never looked back. Despite the Colonials hitting an impressive .368 in the set, the Jaguars were able to close out the match with a 15-11 victory. The final set had seven ties and two lead changes, but IU Indy's strong start proved to be the difference.
The team spends the next two weekends away from home beginning at Northern Kentucky on Oct. 17-18 and at Cleveland State Oct. 24-25. RMU returns to the UPMC Events Center on Tuesday Oct. 28 against Youngstown State.
