HIGHLAND HILLS, Ky. - Despite jumping out to a 2-0 lead, Robert Morris could not close out the match, as NKU rallied in the final three sets to secure a 3-2 (25-21, 25-21, 11-25, 26-28, 13-15) victory on Saturday afternoon.
 
Jasmine Purakal led all players with a career-high 38 digs. Jocelyn Jourdan anchored the offense with a team-high 17 kills and 21 digs. Natalie Stepanovich finished the match with 14 kills and 18 digs. Azra Eric added 12 kills. Kaitlyn Brown recorded 43 assists.

Set 1: Robert Morris 25, Northern Ky. 21
RMU held NKU at bay for the majority of the set. A block from Stepanovich and Eric gave the Colonials the set win.
 
Set 2: Robert Morris 25, Northern Ky. 21
A block by Keira Hornung and Jourdan broke a 13-13 tie and RMU never looked back. Eric's kill sealed the set at 25-21.
 
Set 3: Northern Ky. 25, Robert Morris 11
The Norse led wire-to-wire to close the gap at 2-1 after taking the 3^rd set.
 
Set 4: Northern Ky. 28, Robert Morris 26
The Colonials held off a set point at 24-23 and took a 26-25 lead, but could not finish as two errors and a Norse kill tied the match at two sets apiece.
 
Set 5: Northern Ky. 15, Robert Morris 13
RMU held off match points at 14-11 before making the score 14-13 forcing an NKU timeout. However, the Norse recorded a kill on the next play to end the match.


The team spends the next weekend away from home beginning at Cleveland State Oct. 24-25. RMU returns to the UPMC Events Center on Tuesday Oct. 28 against Youngstown State.
