Box Score SOUTH BEND, Ind— The Robert Morris Colonials men's hockey team fell in a 6-3 decision at
Notre Dame on Friday night. With the loss, RMU drops to 0-3-0 on the season.
FIRST PERIOD
RMU exploded early, scoring two quick goals within the first seven minutes. At 5:53,
Dominic Elliott netted the opener, assisted by
George Krotiris and
Bruce McDonald.
Just 43 seconds later,
Patrick Johnson extended the lead by converting a chance set up by
John Babcock and
Braden Rourke.
However,
Notre Dame responded before the period changed. At 14:18, Sutter
Muzzatti cut the lead to 2-1, and at 17:01, Carter Slaggert evened the score at 2-2.
SECOND PERIOD
The Fighting Irish took control in the middle frame. At 15:16, Muzzatti teamed with
Caeden Carlisle and Brennan Ali to give
Notre Dame a 3-2 lead. RMU had opportunities, but could not find the equalizer.
THIRD PERIOD
Notre Dame opened the third by extending the lead on a power-play goal: Brennan Ali scored at 10:27 assisted by Axel Kumlin and
Mastrodomenico.
Just over four minutes later at 14:59, Michael Mastrodomenico tallied again for the Irish. RMU responded with a goal at 15:47 by Jackson
Reineke (assist:
Bruce McDonald) to make it 5-3.
But
Notre Dame sealed it with an empty-net goal by Panayioti Fimis at 18:21 assisted by Jayden Davis and
Muzzatti, closing the game at 6-3.
INSIDE THE BOX SCORE
• RMU took a fast 2-0 lead but could not sustain momentum.

Notre Dame who won 44 of 59 draws; RMU won just 15.
