MOON TOWNSHIP, Pa. – Former Robert Morris standout Markeese Hastings has been drafted by the Grand Rapids Gold, the NBA G-League affiliate of the Denver Nuggets. Hastings was selected as the ninth pick in the second round. He becomes the first-ever RMU player to be drafted in the G-League.
 
Hastings most recently played for Cherno More Ticha Varna of the Bulgarian NBL League. Prior to that, he played in the Israel-National League with Hapoel Kfar Qasem.
 
In his only season at RMU, Hasting played and started in 31 games, averaging 14.4 points and 7.8 rebounds per contest while shooting 51.5% from the floor. He recorded double-figures in 23 games and had eight double-doubles. He has a career-high of 31 points, which included a school record perfect 17-for-17 from the line.
 
Hastings concluded his RMU career by being named to the 2024 All-Horizon League Third Team.
