MOON TOWNSHIP, Pa. – Despite a strong performance from
Jocelyn Jourdan, Robert Morris University fell to Oakland in four sets (16-25, 24-26, 25-21, 20-25) on Saturday afternoon.
The Colonials dropped the first two sets, including a tight 26-24 decision in the second frame. They battled back to win the third set 25-21, but the Golden Grizzlies closed out the match with a 25-20 win in the fourth set.
Jourdan led the Robert Morris attack with a match-high 21 kills.
Layla Todd added 13 kills, while
Kaitlyn Brown dished out 39 assists.
Jasmine Purakal anchored the defense with 30 digs.
RMU falls to 6-9 on the season and 2-2 in Horizon League play. Oakland improves to 2-14 overall and 2-2 in the league.
Up next, the Colonials remain at the UPMC Events tomorrow afternoon at 2 p.m. facing Oakland again.
