MOON TOWNSHIP, Pa. – The RMU women's hockey team will wrap up its six-game homestand this weekend, welcoming Rensselaer Polytechnic Institute (RPI) for a non-conference series at Clearview Arena. The Colonials and Engineers will face off Friday, November 14 at 3:00 PM, before closing out the set on Saturday, November 15 at 3:00 PM. Both games will stream live on FloHockey, with commentary from Bob Kennedy, Spencer Witt, and Nathan Breisinger.
RMU LATELY
RMU (5-9-0, 3-5-0 AHA) enters the weekend looking to bounce back following a tough series against Mercyhurst, dropping both contests by scores of 5-1 and 7-2. Redshirt sophomore
Taylor Storey recorded a goal and an assist across the two games, while
Rowyn Ringor contributed a pair of helpers.
Through 14 games this season, sophomore forward
Jessica MacKinnon continues to lead the Colonials in nearly every offensive category. She paces the squad in goals (6), assists (8), and points (14), ranking second in Atlantic Hockey America in total points. MacKinnon also owns a team-best +8 plus/minus and has netted two game-winning goals.
On the defensive end, sophomore
Shayne Desjardins remains a key presence on the blue line with 48 blocked shots, the second-most in the conference. Between the pipes,
Maggie Hatch has been RMU's primary starter, appearing in nine games while posting a .902 save percentage, 3.23 goals-against average, and three victories, including one shutout.
NCAA LEADER
No one in the nation has been more dominant in the faceoff circle than MacKinnon. Her 198 faceoff wins lead all NCAA Division I skaters, while her 63.5% win rate underscores her consistency and control at the dot.
ALL-TIME VS. RPI
The Colonials hold a 12-9-3 all-time record against RPI in a series that dates back to 2005. The teams last met in 2019, with RMU riding a three-game winning streak against the Engineers. Over the last 10 meetings, the Colonials have gone 7-2-1, maintaining a strong edge in the matchup.
SCOUTING THE ENGINEERS
RPI (2-11-0, 1-5-0 ECAC) is coming off a series split with Union College. The Engineers' other victory this season came against Sacred Heart.
Sophomore forward Charlotte Wensley leads the team offensively with seven goals and nine points, while junior Georgia Bailey has chipped in a team-high four assists. On the back end, senior Sophia Jones anchors the defense with 29 blocked shots. In goal, junior Reese Keating has made 11 starts, recording a .891 save percentage and 3.41 goals-against average.

Following the weekend series, RMU will hit the road for a six-game swing, beginning with a conference matchup at Lindenwood. The Colonials and Lions will open the series on Friday, November 21 at 1:00 PM ET, before wrapping up the weekend on Saturday, November 22 at 1:00 PM ET.
