MOON TOWNSHIP, Pa. – The Colonials finished out the regular season with a 3-0 loss to Green Bay to fall to 9-20 overall and 5-12 in Horizon League play on Saturday afternoon at the UPMC Events Center.
Set 1: Green Bay 25, Robert Morris 13
The Colonials found themselves down 7-4 after a 3-0 run by Green Bay to open the match. The Phoenix extended its lead to 15-6, forcing RMU to take a timeout after a 5-0 run by Green Bay. A kill by
Jocelyn Jourdan and a bad set by Green Bay made it 15-8 before the Phoenix extended its lead to eight on a kill by Diane Pichelman. Green Bay extended the lead to double-digits, leading RMU 23-13, before back-to-back points by Green Bay sealed the set one win. In the first set,
Jocelyn Jourdan led the Colonials with three kills while
Kaitlyn Brown recorded eight assists.
Natalie Stepanovich and
Jasmine Purakal recorded three digs each.
Set 2: Green Bay 25, Robert Morris 22
Back-to-back points by the Phoenix put them ahead of the Colonials 13-9 before a kill by Tia Shultz made it 13-10. A kill by Green Bay triggered a Media Timeout, with the Phoenix ahead 15-10. A 3-0 run by Green Bay made it 19-12 before the Colonials got back-to-back points on an
Azra Eric kill and Stepanovich serving ace to make it 19-14. RMU called their first timeout of the set at 20-14 following a Green Bay Kill. Following the timeout, RMU went on a 4-0 run to force Green Bay to take its first timeout at 20-18. The Colonials called their final timeout of the set at 23-19 following a kill by Jessica Kurpeikis. Back-to-back points by the Colonials made it 24-22, with Green Bay calling their final timeout. Green Bay finished out the second set with a kill to take set two 25-22.
Set 3: Green Bay 25, Robert Morris 23
A 4-0 run put the Colonials up 8-6 to begin the third set at the UPMC Events Center. Green Bay called an early timeout at 11-8 after an attack error by the Phoenix to put the Colonials back up by two. A 3-0 run by Green Bay gave the Phoenix a 21-20 lead, forcing RMU to take its first timeout of the set. Back-to-back points by the Phoenix made it 24-22 with RMU calling their final timeout of the set. A kill by Green Bay's Gillian Koning sealed the match for the Phoenix, with Green Bay getting the 25-23 set win.
