MOON TOWNSHIP, Pa. – The RMU men's hockey team hits the road this weekend for its final non-conference test of the 2025-26 campaign, heading to St. Charles, Mo., for a two-game series against Lindenwood. The weekend opens Friday, November 21 at 8:00 PM ET before wrapping up on Saturday, November 22 at 7:00 PM ET. Both games can be seen live on FloHockey.

RMU LATELY
RMU (2-7-1, 2-2-0 AHA) enters the weekend looking to rebound after a pair of tight, one-goal losses to RIT. In the series, the Colonials generated goals from Tanner Klimpke, George Krotiris and Greg Japchen, while Dario Beljo, Ryan Taylor and Michael Felsing each added assists to contribute to the offensive push.

Through the first 10 games, freshman forward Bruce McDonald continues to pace the team in both assists and total points (7). Klimpke leads all Colonials with four goals, while Krotiris and Beljo share the team's best plus/minus rating at +1. On the defensive end, freshman John Babcock has emerged as a dependable shot-blocking presence, totaling a team-best 20 blocks. Between the pipes, freshman goaltender Charlie Schenkel has carried the workload, starting every game so far while posting two wins and a .894 save percentage.

As a group, RMU is averaging 2.3 goals per game. The power play sits at 10.7%, while the penalty kill is working at 77.1%. The Colonials own a 46.9% faceoff win rate entering the weekend.

CHASING 300
Head Coach Derek Schooley, now in his 20th season at the helm of the program, is closing in on a major milestone. With 298 career victories, he is just two wins away from reaching the 300-win mark.

ALL-TIME VS. LINDENWOOD
RMU holds a 1-0-1 record all-time against Lindenwood, with both meetings coming last season at Clearview Arena. The Colonials captured a 3-0 shutout win in the opener—behind a standout 37-save performance from then-freshman Croix Kochendorfer—and followed it with a 2-2 tie in the finale before winning the shootout, 2-1.

Across the weekend, Dominic Elliott totaled three assists, McKay Hayes delivered a goal and two assists, Patrick Johnson netted a pair of goals, and Luke van Why added a goal and assist. Hayes also scored the shootout winner.

SCOUTING THE LIONS
Lindenwood (5-5-0) enters the weekend riding momentum from a four-game winning streak, sweeping Ferris State and Grand Canyon while erupting for 17 goals across the two contests against GCU.

Through 10 games, sophomore forward Charles Savoie has been the Lions' offensive leader, posting eight assists, 11 points and a team-best +5 rating. Sophomore forward Giovanni Morneau holds the team lead in goals with six, and freshman forward Louis-Philippe Fontaine has already registered two game-winning tallies. Defenseman Jacob Delaney anchors the blue line with a team-leading 14 blocked shots.

In goal, Klayton Knapp has made seven starts with a .878 save percentage and two wins, while Liam Beerman has earned three wins, one shutout and a .925 save percentage.

Lindenwood is averaging 3.0 goals per game while allowing 3.7. The Lions' power play has been an early-season strength at 23.7%, and their penalty kill mirrors RMU's at 77.1%. In the faceoff circle, they hold a 48.0% success rate.

COMMON OPPONENTS
The Colonials and Lions share two common opponents on their 2025-26 schedules: LIU and Canisius.
