MOON TOWNSHIP, Pa. – The RMU Men's Lacrosse team looks for its third straight victory when it hosts Hobart on Saturday afternoon. The match, which is part of a double-header with the women's team, has a 2 p.m. faceoff.
RMU LATELY
RMU (2-2) is coming off a 9-7 victory over Canisius on February 22.
Calum Brennan's goal at 6:24 of the fourth quarter broke a 7-7 tie, and
Kean Moon added an insurance goal with 3:48 remaining to secure the win.
HOBART LATELY
Hobart (2-2) fell to #3 Cornell 22-9 on February 25. The Statesmen led 7-3 at the 12:48 mark of the 2
nd quarter before 10 straight Big Red goals put them in the driver's seat the rest of the way.
RMU AND HOBART HISTORY
The teams have met 13 times, with Hobart holding an 8-5 series advantage. The series began in 2005 and went on hiatus until 2011. The teams met each year, including the 2019 NEC Championship game which RMU won 16-15 in overtime, until 2019. The series resumed 2023.
The Statesmen lead the series 5-2 in matches played at Joe Walton Stadium.
RMU AND HOBART LAST TIME OUT
A big 2
nd quarter helped lift Hobart over RMU 15-10 on March 2, 2024 in Geneva, N.Y. After the 1
st quarter the score was tied 4-4, but the Statesmen outscored the Colonials 7-2 in the 2
nd quarter which proved to be the difference.

RMU and Hobart each play Canisius, High Point, Le Moyne, Richmond and St. Bonaventure.
LEAGUE HONORS
Goalkeeper
Nate Fechter is the NEC Defensive Player of the Week. Fechter led the Colonials to victories over St. Bonaventure and Canisius, posting a 7.0 GAA and .640 save percentage. In an 8-7 win against the Bonnies on Tuesday, the sophomore made 13 saves. He matched that mark in Saturday's 9-7 win over Canisius. His .505 save percentage is currently third-best in the NEC.
