MILWAUKEE, Wi. – The RMU women's basketball team bounced back on Thursday night as the Colonials defeated Milwaukee on the road, 58-52. The Colonials improved to 10-13 on the season and have now moved to 6-8 in Horizon League play.
FIRST QUARTER
- The Colonials came out of the gate ready to score as they converted three out of the first four attempts from the field and took an early 7-4 lead.
- However, Milwaukee kept disrupting the interior defense of RMU and would score 12 points in the paint compared to four for the Colonials.
- Milwaukee ended the frame by going on an 8-1 run in the final 3:56 of the quarter to gain momentum.
SECOND QUARTER
- Once again, RMU got off to a quick start scoring six out of the first 10 points of the quarter as Katelyn Chomko and Raissa Nsabua were heavy contributors in the scoring resurgence.
- RMU went dry in the middle of the frame and scored just two points in the final 4:40 of the quarter.
- The Colonials went to the break trailing by five points but closed the gap thanks to winning the rebounding battle.
THIRD QUARTER
- This turned out to be the highest scoring quarter of the game with both teams combining to score 39 points.
- Each squad went bucket for bucket up until the midway point of the quarter where the Panthers began to separate themselves.
- Even though the Colonials found success from the paint, Milwaukee caught fire from beyond the arc going 3-5 from beyond the arc in the frame. The Panthers would end the stanza with an eight-point advantage.
FOURTH QUARTER
- RMU flipped a switch in this frame playing stellar defense along with capitalizing on their shots from the field.
- The Colonials controlled the floor as they went on a 12-0 run over an eight minute span to take the lead late in the game.
- Senior guard Isys Grady was impressive for RMU as she scored 12 of her 17 points in this frame and went 5-6 from the free throw line.
- Milwaukee had to resort to fouling RMU late in the game as the Colonials pulled away by a score of 58-52.
WINNING DEFENSE
The Colonials allowed the Panthers to score just five points in the fourth quarter of tonight's game as that marked the lowest point total that RMU has allowed all season in one quarter of play. Those five points are the lowest that a Colonials team has allowed since the 2022 season against St. Bonaventure.
INSIDE THE BOX SCORE
Isys Grady led the Colonials with 17 points while having five rebounds and two assists.
Mya Murray had a near double-double as she finished the game with 10 points and a team-high nine rebounds and four assists.
Jada Lee reached double digits with a 10-point game along with five boards.

The Colonials will stay in Wisconsin and play against Green Bay in Horizon League action on Saturday afternoon. Tipoff is scheduled for 2 p.m. and can be seen live on ESPN+.
