MOON TOWNSHIP, Pa. – The RMU Men's Lacrosse team is looking to extent its Northeast Conference winning streak to five matches and remain undefeated in league play when they host VMI on Saturday afternoon. Faceoff is at noon.
 
RMU LATELY
The Colonials (7-4, 4-0 NEC) are tied atop the standings with Le Moyne heading into Saturday's match. RMU is coming off a 13-9 victory over at LIU April 5.
 
VMI LATELY
The Keydets (8-3, 2-2 NEC) fell to Wagner 10-9 in overtime on April 5. VMI is tied for third place in the NEC with LIU and Cleveland State.  
 
RMU AND VMI HISTORY
Saturday will mark the first match between the two schools in 15 years. The Colonials and Keydets squared off each year between 2005 and 2010 with RMU leading the series 4-2 and 2-0 at Joe Walton Stadium.  
 
RMU AND VMI LAST TIME OUT
Kiel Matisz tied a career-high with five goals, while seven other Colonials tallied multiple points in RMU's 19-8 victory over VMI on March 6, 2010 at Foster Stadium in Lexington, Va.
 
HIGH SCORING TEAMS
VMI leads the NEC with 15.3 goals per game and have five matches scoring over 18 goals. RMU is third with 11.7 goals per game. Both teams are atop the league with 93 assists. The Keydets Luke Rusterucci (36), Dayton Bagwell (36) and Austin English (33) are the top three goal scorers in the NEC while RMU's Calum Brennan is fourth with 30. Rusterucci leads the league in assists (25) and total points (61). David Burr is third with 15 assists and is tied with Brennan for fourth in the NEC with 37 points.

Bo Columbus (.627) leads the league in faceoff percentage.
 
COMMON OPPONENTS
Aside from the NEC opponents, RMU and LIU have each played High Point and St. Bonaventure.
 
THE LAST TIME…
The last time RMU won five straight NEC games was in 2012 when they went a perfect 5-0 in NEC play with wins over Wagner, Sacred Heart, Mount St. Mary's, Quinnipiac and Bryant.

The Colonials remain to Joe Walton Stadium on April 19 to host Cleveland State and close out the regular season at Le Moyne on April 26. This will be senior day where Nathan Gabriel,  Nate Randall, Brendan Cina, Columbus, Parker Piwinski, Brian Simmons, Zach Seppi, Bobby Reaume, Liam Keane, Reed Greco, Kean Moon, John Sramac, Burr and Nick Pelletier will be honored in a postmatch ceremony.
