MOON TOWNSHIP, Pa. – The RMU Men's Lacrosse team is looking to extent its Northeast Conference winning streak to six matches and stay perfect in league when they host Cleveland State on Saturday afternoon. Faceoff is at 3 p.m. This is the Colonials' Senior Day in which a ceremony will be held after the match on the field.
RMU LATELY
The Colonials (8-4, 5-0 NEC) are tied atop the standings with Le Moyne (8-4, 5-0 NEC) heading into Saturday's match. RMU is coming off a 15-9 victory over VMI on April 12.
CSU LATELY
The Vikings (4-8, 2-3 NEC) have dropped three of their last four matches including a 15-7 decision to LIU on April 12.
RMU AND CSU HISTORY
RMU leads the all-time series 5-1 that began in 2018. The Colonials are 3-0 in matches played at Joe Walton Stadium. The teams competed in the ASUN together for the last three years before moving to the NEC this season.
RMU AND CSU LAST TIME OUT
Cleveland State used a nine-goal second half to get past the RMU 13-6 on March 23, 2024.
TOP DRAW
Bo Columbus (.644) leads the league and is sixth in the NCAA in faceoff percentage. Last week against VMI, he tied the program record with 18 ground balls. He was named NEC Co-Player of the Week and was a part of the USILA Team of the Week.
COMMON OPPONENTS
Aside from the NEC opponents, RMU and LIU have each played Bellarmine, Canisius, and St. Bonaventure.
THE LAST TIME…
The last time RMU won six straight matches was in 2012 with wins over Canisius, Wagner, Sacred Heart, Mount St. Mary's, Quinnipiac and Bryant. A win on Saturday would tie the program's second longest winning streak.
