PHILADELPHIA - The RMU rowing team participated in the historic Kerr Cup on Saturday afternoon. The event was held on the Schuylkill River.
 
The Colonials raced three boats, the Varsity 8+, the 2^nd Varsity 8+ and the Novice 4+. Both of the 8s advanced to the grand final in which the Colonials finished in third place with a time of 8:04.49.
 
"We had a good day of racing across the squad. Conditions were really challenging all day long with a strong headwind and heavy chop on the water, which our athletes handled like seasoned pros," said head coach Robert Weber. "Both of our Eights advanced to the A Final, and our Novice Four did a great job beating two other crews in their only race. The highlight of the day was a third-place finish by our Varsity Eight, which was a real statement result for our program and shows that the hard work and commitment from our kids are paying off."
