RMU Men's Hockey Names Captains for 2025-26 Season

MOON TOWNSHIP, Pa. – The RMU men's hockey team has announced its captains for the upcoming 2025-26 campaign, as named by Head Coach Derek Schooley. Defenseman Michael Craig and forward Cameron Garvey will both wear the "C" for the second consecutive season, while forward Tanner Klimpke has also been named a captain.
 
"We're proud to announce Michael Craig, Cameron Garvey and Tanner Klimpke as our captains," said Schooley. "Their leadership will be crucial in setting our team's direction, fostering accountability and ensuring we operate with a clear sense of purpose throughout the season."
 
MICHAEL CRAIG (Defenseman)
Hailing from St. Catharines, Ontario, Michael Craig has been a consistent and reliable presence on the Colonials' blue line over the past two seasons. In 73 career games, the junior defenseman has recorded five goals, 29 assists, and 34 points. Craig also enters his junior year with an impressive 77 career blocked shots.
 
"It's an honor to be trusted by my teammates and the coaching staff to continue to lead our team towards the goal of a championship season," said Craig. "Our group is working hard to take a big step next season, and I'm excited and fortunate to be a part of it."
 
CAMERON GARVEY (Forward)
A native of Oakville, Ontario, junior forward Cameron Garvey has proven to be a clutch player for RMU in numerous key moments. His career highlights include scoring a hat trick, a Teddy Bear Toss goal, and the game-winning overtime goal against Bentley in the 2024 AHA First Round. Over 71 career games, Garvey has tallied 18 goals, 18 assists, and 36 points, including three game-winning goals and three power-play goals. He has also demonstrated his skill in the faceoff circle, winning over 500 draws.
 
"It's an honor that we will wear proudly on the Colonial jersey," stated Garvey, returning as a leader. "I'm looking forward to this upcoming season and want to put this program back on top. RMU has had some amazing captains in the past, and we want to continue the trend and bring a championship back home."
 
TANNER KLIMPKE (Forward)
Also entering his junior year, forward Tanner Klimpke has been selected as a captain for the 2025-26 campaign. Since his rookie season, the Calgary, Alberta native has been a dynamic and productive offensive talent for the Colonials. In 63 career games, Klimpke has registered 25 goals, 24 assists, and 49 points. Notably, seven of his goals have come on the power play, and he has also scored one shorthanded goal and two game-winners.
 
"It's an incredible honor to be able to wear a letter for the Colonials," said Klimpke. "I'm extremely grateful for the trust my teammates and coaching staff have placed in me. We have a special group that is dedicated to bringing a championship to RMU, and I'm excited to see what we can accomplish next year."
 
The RMU men's hockey program, led by Head Coach Derek Schooley since its inception in 2003, will embark on its 20th season in program history in 2025-26 under the guidance of these three captains.
