CORAOPOLIS, Pa. – Bowling Green was able to overcome an early 1-0 deficit to defeat the Colonials, 2-1. RMU now holds a 2-3 record for the 2025 season.
HOW IT HAPPENED
After allowing the first shot on goal, the Colonials offense found its footing. Over a five-minute period, RMU registered three shots and earned three corner kicks.
The persistence paid off in the 18th minute. Off a corner kick by

Shauna Gamble headed the ball toward the goal, where senior captain
Paloma Swankler put it in for a 1-0 lead.
Ten minutes later, Bowling Green tied the game as Ella Kane slotted a shot in to level the score.
RMU came out in the second half with determination, recording two shots and four corner kicks, but the Falcons came away with the winning goal off a corner kick in the 63rd minute.
The Colonials had one more set-piece opportunity late in the game but were unable to find the equalizer.
INSIDE THE BOX SCORE
RMU outshot Bowling Green eight to three, though the Colonials only had two shots on goal compared to the Falcons' three. RMU also dominated corner kicks, earning nine to Bowling Green's one.

SWANKLER'S FIRST
Senior captain
Paloma Swankler netted her first goal of the season. Last year, Swankler was a key contributor, recording six goals and five assists to rank in the top five in both categories. She now owns one goal and one assist in 2025.
