PINEHURST, N.C. – The RMU Men's Golf team opened its Spring season at the Babygrande Donald Ross Collegiate Classic. The Colonials placed 20^th.
 
Chuck Tragesser finished tied for 19th with a final score of +1. The event at Mid Pines Inn & Golf Course saw Tragesser post a strong second round of 2-under par.
 
Ben Sheridan tied for the 49^th position, ending the tournament at +7. Sheridan's performance included a strong start at -1 in the first round.

"While it may not seem like it on paper, there were a lot of positives. This is the first time we've played outside, and it's a strong field with many teams from the south that are already playing in their second or third tournament. We could choose an easier path, but we want to eventually compete with the best, so we will take some lumps along the way. However, we need to find ways and resources to get better prepared during the winter months."
