MOON TOWNSHIP, Pa. – The RMU softball team is set for its home opener against Mercyhurst with a doubleheader on Saturday, March 14 at 1:00 PM at the North Athletic Complex. The Colonials will then travel to Erie, Pa., for another doubleheader on Sunday beginning at 1:00 PM.
 
RMU's games will stream live on ESPN+ while Mercyhurst's home games will stream live on NEC Front Row.
 
RMU LATELY
Earlier this week, RMU (8-6) defeated Pitt 12-3 at Vartabedian Field. Redshirt senior Courtney Poulich earned Horizon League Player of the Week honors after a huge performance against the Panthers, hitting two home runs, driving in six RBI and scoring four runs. In the circle, Kaitlyn Molitoris pitched a complete game to earn her third win of the season, striking out 10 batters.
 
Through 14 games, junior catcher Agalia Rudd leads the team with a .568 batting average, .583 on-base percentage, a 1.045 slugging percentage and 25 hits. Poulich has totaled eight home runs, 25 RBI and 28 runs scored, and currently leads the nation in runs scored per game (2.00).
 
MILESTONE WATCH
Poulich is nearing several career milestones. She enters the weekend with 98 career RBI, 97 runs scored and 92 hits.
 
ALL-TIME VS. MERCYHURST
RMU is 2-0 all-time against the Lakers, with both matchups coming last season in Moon Township. The Colonials won the games by scores of 8-0 and 11-3. Alum Anna Resnik played a key role in the wins, recording five RBI across the two contests.
 
SCOUTING THE LAKERS
Mercyhurst (1-8) enters the weekend on a three-game skid. The Lakers are also scheduled to face Kent State, Youngstown State, Saint Francis and Oakland later this season.
 
Through nine games, junior Bailey Cannon leads the team offensively with a .364 batting average, .591 slugging percentage, .500 on-base percentage, eight hits and five runs scored. Sophomore Jazlynn Sanders leads the team with seven RBI and has added one home run.
 
In the circle, Cannon owns a 5.60 ERA, while freshman Alana Stuart has recorded Mercyhurst's lone win this season.
