RMU Men’s Hockey Signs Jack Puglia Through Team IMPACT

MOON TOWNSHIP, Pa. – The RMU men's hockey team, led by head coach Derek Schooley, officially welcomed a new member to its roster, signing six-year-old Jack Puglia through Team IMPACT.

Jack was formally introduced during a signing day press conference held last week in the Hat Trick Club at the RMU Island Sports Center. Surrounded by family, friends, and members of the team, he signed his National Letter of Intent and was presented with official RMU gear, marking the beginning of his journey as an honorary member of the Colonials.

As part of the program, Jack will take part in a variety of team activities throughout the year, including attending games, practices, and other team events. His involvement provides a unique opportunity to build meaningful relationships with student-athletes while becoming an integral part of the RMU hockey family.

Team IMPACT, a national nonprofit organization, connects children facing serious illness or disability with college athletic teams through a multiyear program. Using a structured clinical model, the organization fosters a mutually beneficial relationship centered on socialization, confidence-building, and resilience for the child, while also providing student-athletes with a powerful perspective beyond the game.

Since its founding in 2011, Team IMPACT has matched more than 2,300 children with over 700 colleges and universities, positively impacting the lives of more than 60,000 student-athletes nationwide. For more information or to get involved, visit www.teamimpact.org.
