BOSTON – RMU men's hockey defenseman John Babcock was named to the 2026 Atlantic Hockey America All-Tournament Team, as announced by the conference Saturday night.

The freshman blue liner played a pivotal role in guiding the Colonials through the postseason, helping secure a Quarterfinal Round series victory over Air Force at home while pushing RMU to the Semifinal Round.

Across six playoff contests, Babcock tallied one goal and three assists while registering 11 shots on goal. Anchoring the defensive end, he blocked 26 shots—an average of 4.3 per game—and finished the tournament with a +4 rating.

Carrying momentum from the final regular season series into the postseason, Babcock pieced together a six-game point streak, recording three goals and four assists. His consistent two-way play earned him back-to-back AHA Defenseman of the Week honors.

In his first collegiate campaign, the North Vancouver, B.C. native compiled four goals and nine assists for 13 points. He also led the conference in blocked shots with 123 across 40 games.

In addition to his All-Tournament Team selection, Babcock was named to the AHA All-Rookie Team at the conclusion of the regular season.
