The noon faceoff features the top two teams in the league, with the Colonials (10-3, 5-0 NEC) putting their program-record nine-game winning streak on the line against the Sharks (9-2, 4-1 NEC).
The implications for the match are straightforward: a victory for RMU would officially clinch the NEC regular season crown and ensure home-field advantage throughout the upcoming conference tournament. The Colonials enter the weekend as the only remaining undefeated team in league play, while LIU looks to bounce back and force a tie at the top of the standings.

Dylan Anderson has been a primary catalyst for the offense, netting four goals against the Lakers to mark his third consecutive game reaching that total. For his efforts, Anderson was named the NEC Rookie of the Week for the sixth time this season. The Colonials rank 10th in the NCAA in both ground balls per game (34.9) and scoring defense (9.08). Owen Tapper, ranks fourth nationally with 2.42 caused turnovers per game, and
Nate Fechter, whose .555 save percentage sits at 13th in the country.
LIU LATELY
LIU enters Saturday's matchup looking to bounce back after suffering its first NEC loss of the season, a narrow 10-8 defeat against VMI. The Sharks have sport a 4-1 road record. The squad features a statistically dominant lineup that leads the NEC in both scoring offense (13.0 goals per contest) and scoring defense (8.45 goals allowed per game). Individually, the Sharks rely on the production of Ben McIsaac, who leads the NEC with 42 points. On the defensive end, Shaun Hill has been a primary factor, leading the league with 32 ground balls.
RMU AND LIU HISTORY
Robert Morris holds a 2-0 record in the all-time series against LIU after winning both meetings last season. The Colonials first defeated the Sharks 13-9 during a regular-season trip to Brookville, N.Y. The teams met again in the NEC Championship semifinals in Syracuse, where RMU secured a 12-11 victory in overtime. This weekend marks the first time the two programs will play at Joe Walton Stadium.
