MOON TOWNSHIP, Pa. – The RMU women's rowing team is set for a Friday morning race against Duquesne at Lake Arthur, located in Moraine State Park, to open up the 2026 spring season for the Colonials. The race is set to begin at 9:00 a.m.
 
Friday's race was originally scheduled to take place at the Three Rivers Rowing Association, but due to unsafe river conditions and recent weather in the area, a decision was made to move the race to Lake Arthur. Moraine State Park is located just over an hour away from RMU's campus.
 
Friday's format will be 4 x 5' race pieces and then 90" pieces.
 
FALL IN REVIEW
The Colonials competed in three events in the fall, including the Head of the Ohio, Yinzer Cup, and the Head of the Occoquan.
 
RMU opened up the season with two medals at the Head of the Ohio, with the Open 8+ boat winning silver and the Novice 4+ taking bronze. The Open 8+ boat crossed in 14:37.487 and was second in a field of 15, coming in 20.518 seconds behind Duquesne. The Novice 4+ finished in 16:52.031 behind a pair of WVU crews and ahead of teams from Penn State and Pitt.
 
At the Yinzer Cup, the V4 finished first with a time of 13:16.9, and the V8 was second, crossing in 16:02.7. RMU also had the Novice 4 racing, who finished fourth in 13:32.1, along with the Varsity 4B, who finished eighth with a time of 15:30.4
 
The Colonials closed out the fall season at the Head of the Occoquan with a first-place finish by the Novice 4+ crew, who finished with a time of 21:15.789, finishing first out of 10.
