CLEVELAND, Ohio – Junior
Anabel Kreydt was selected as the MAC Defensive Player of the Week after her strong performances against Pittsburgh and Eastern Michigan last week, the league office announced on Tuesday afternoon.
Kreydt, a junior from Springfield, Pennsylvania, provided a strong week defensively for the Colonials, racking up six ground balls and seven caused turnovers. Against Pittsburgh, Kreydt tied a career-high in ground balls with four, and posted a career-high four caused turnovers against Eastern Michigan.
This season, Kreydt is the first Colonial to earn Defensive Player of the Week Honors, and the first since April 1, 2025, when
Madison Prietz received the honor. Kreydt is the 12
th Colonial to earn the honor since RMU joined the Mid-American Conference in January of 2021.
Kredyt is the third Colonial this season to earn MAC honors, joining
Lucy Carney, who was named Goalkeeper of the Week (April 7), and
Mia Berthoff, who was tagged Offensive Player of the Week (February 24).
