RMU Hockey Programs Stand Alone with Perfect APR Marks

MOON TOWNSHIP, Pa. – The NCAA released its annual Academic Progress Rate (APR) report earlier this week, and both the Robert Morris men's and women's hockey programs once again ranked among the nation's top teams academically.

The RMU women's hockey program was one of 10 programs nationally to earn a perfect four-year APR score of 1,000. The RMU men's hockey team also earned a perfect four-year APR score of 1,000, becoming one of only six men's hockey programs in the country to achieve the mark.

RMU was the only institution to have both hockey programs earn perfect four-year APR scores of 1,000.

"Our student-athletes continue to represent Robert Morris at an elite level both on the ice and in the classroom," said RMU men's hockey head coach Derek Schooley. "These results are a reflection of the commitment our players make every day to academics, as well as the support they receive from our staff, faculty and academic support services."

"We take a tremendous amount of pride in the culture our student-athletes have built," said RMU women's hockey head coach Logan Bittle. "To see both programs recognized nationally for academic success speaks volumes about the dedication and work ethic of our players."

The APR was created by the NCAA in 2003 to track the academic achievement of Division I student-athletes. Teams earn points based on academic eligibility, retention and progress toward graduation.
