MOON TOWNSHIP, Pa. - The RMU Football team is slated to open up the 2026 season on Saturday as the Colonials travel to NEC opponent Wagner. Kickoff is scheduled for 12:00 p.m. on Staten Island.
THE SERIES
Saturday will mark the 29th matchup between the two teams, with the Colonials winning the all-time series 16-12. On the road against the Seahawks, RMU is 9-6, with their most recent road win coming in 2024 when the Colonials picked up a 21-14 win, marking the first for the Colonials in the NEC since Nov. 23, 2019. In the last 10 matchups between the pair, the Colonials have gone 4-6.Â
LAST WHISTLE
The pair met last November in Moon Township with Wagner securing a 24-20 win over the Colonials. In the matchup, the Colonials recorded 380 total yards with 289 coming in the air. Jaqai Carter recorded a career-high 141 receiving yards while scoring a touchdown for the Colonials.Â
Wagner held the upper hand in the run game, recording 320 rushing yards on the night.
COACH CLARK
Head coach Bernard Clark, Jr., enters his ninth season as the head coach of the Robert Morris Football program. Clark, a native of Tampa, Fla., was named the third head coach in program history on Dec. 19, 2017.
The 2025 season for Clark culminated in eight players being named to the NEC All-Conference Team. A standout moment of the season was the emergence of freshman wide receiver Jaqai Carter, who became a national finalist for the prestigious 2025 Jerry Rice Award. This honor recognizes the top freshman player in the NCAA FCS subdivision. Carter's achievement made him the first Colonial to be a finalist for the award since 2018. Carter returns to the Colonials this season.Â
