NASHPORT, Ohio – The RMU men's golf team opened its 2026 fall season Sunday, finishing eighth at the Virtues Intercollegiate.
As a team, the Colonials finished the three-round tournament 23-over par, posting rounds of +9, +4 and +10. Michigan won the tournament with a score of 33-under par.
Among the 87 golfers in the field, RMU's top finisher was sophomore
Connor McKenzie, who tied for 25th with a 2-over-par score after 54 holes. Redshirt senior
Chuck Tragesser finished just behind him, tying for 27th at 3-over par.
McKenzie's best round came in the opening round, as he carded a 1-under 71. Tragesser posted his best round in the second round, shooting a 3-under 69, which tied for the sixth-best individual round of the tournament.
Over the two-day event, McKenzie recorded 11 birdies, including seven on par-4 holes. Tragesser finished the tournament with seven total birdies.
Chase Bokker tied for 45th with a 9-over-par finish, while
Ben Skripac finished with a 15-over score. Skripac's best round came in the second round, when he shot an even-par 72.
Competing as individuals, Joey Garofolo finished at 19-over par,
Harrison Martineau finished at 25-over and
Ben Sheridan finished at 27-over.
RMU will have approximately two weeks off before returning to action at the RedHawk Intercollegiate, scheduled for September 13-15 at the Pittsburgh Field Club.
