RMU STUDENT-ATHLETE OF THE WEEK (Jan. 3, 2008)
Earning his second RMU Male Student-Athlete of the Week for the 2007-08 winter season is senior guard Tony Lee of the men's basketball squad. Lee led RMU to a 1-1 record last week, including an 88-76 win over Lafayette (12/30/07). Against the Leopards Lee finished with 16 points, six rebounds, nine assists and three steals while hitting on six of his nine field goals. Two days earlier @ Duquesne (12/28/07) he tied for team-high honors with 17 points while adding six rebounds, eight assists and three steals. For those efforts he was named the Choice Hotels NEC Player of the Week for the second time this season. On the 2007-08 campaign Lee leads the NEC and ranks in the top 10 nationally in assists (7.69 per game) and steals (3.23 per game) while averaging 14.4 points and 7.2 rebounds per contest. A native of Boston, Mass., Lee is a communication major.
