RMU Student-Athlete of the Week (3/24/10)

Earning his fourth RMU Male Student-Athlete of the Week honor of the 2009-10 season and second in the last three weeks is freshman guard Karon Abraham of the basketball squad. Abraham put on a virtuoso performance in the first round of the 2010 NCAA Tournament against No. 2 seed Villanova in Providence, R.I., tying a career-high with 23 points on 7-of-15 shooting, including a 5-for-11 performance from beyond the arc. On the 2009-10 campaign, the 2010 Northeast Conference Rookie of the Year and 2010 NEC Tournament MVP led the Colonials in scoring (13.6 ppg), three-pointers (85) and free-throw percentage (.851). He also established seven new freshman records in 2009-10, including double-figure scoring games with 24. A native of Paterson, N.J., Abraham is a sport management major.
