RMU Student-Athlete of the Week (8/31/11)
Earning the inaugural RMU Male Student-Athlete of the Week of the 2011-12 academic year is senior midfielder Francis Bowman of the soccer team. A native of Fawn Grove, Pa., Bowman assisted on both goals in a 2-1 victory over Big East foe Pittsburgh (8/26) at the North Athletic Complex in the 2011 season opener. He set up the first goal when sent a perfectly-placed cross from the left corner to the foot of Miro Cabrilo. Later on Bowman sprung sophomore Prince Samuels with a through ball that produced a 2-0 lead for the Colonials in the 59th minute of play en route to the victory. For those efforts the marketing major was tabbed the adidas/Northeast Conference Player of the Week (8/29).
