RMU Student-Athlete of the Week (11/28/12)
Also earning an RMU Male Student-Athlete of the Week accolade for the week of Nov. 28, 2012, is sophomore forward Lucky Jones of the basketball squad. A native of Newark, N.J., and a management major, Jones established a new career high in scoring @ Savannah State (11/26/12), finishing 6-for-11 shooting from the floor and a perfect 6-for-6 at the free-throw line for 18 points. He also paced the Colonials in rebounds with seven and also compiled one assist and one steal. Just the second freshman in school history to eclipse 200 rebounds in a season in 2011-12, through the first seven games of the 2012-13 campaign Jones leads the Colonials in rebounds with 43, an average of 6.1 caroms per game. Also on the 2012-13 season Jones supplies Robert Morris with a 10.4 points per game average and is shooting 40 percent (20-for-50) from the field and a team-high 86.7 percent (26-for-30) at the free-throw line.
