RMU Student-Athlete of the Week (11/7/12)
Earning Molten/Northeast Conference Defensive Player of the Week has become old habit for sophomore middle blocker Becky Jay in 2012, and the latest honor helps her pick up her second RMU Female Student-Athlete of the Week accolade of the fall season. A native of Parma, Ohio, Jay helped Robert Morris clinch its 14th consecutive berth in the NEC Tournament last weekend with three victories. In wins over Saint Francis (Pa.), Sacred Heart and Fairleigh Dickinson, Jay produced 19 kills, a .372 attack percentage, 11 digs and 15 blocks. For her efforts she picked up her fourth NEC Defensive Player of the Week honor of the season. On the 2012 campaign, Jay leads the Colonials with 137 blocks while owning 148 kills, a .277 attack percentage and 68 digs.
