RMU Student-Athlete of the Week (2/22/12)
An impressive collegiate debut from the circle in helping lead the Colonials to a 3-1 start to the 2012 campaign helps freshman pitcher Nicole Sleith earn her first RMU Female Student-Athlete of the Week honor. At the Hampton Inn Invitational last weekend in Buies Creek, N.C., which was hosted by Campbell, Sleith posted an 0.41 earned run average in earning each of RMU's victories in the circle. In her collegiate debut, Sleith, a native of Smithton, Pa., came on in relief and pitched three scoreless inning to earn the win as the Colonials came back to earn a 3-2 victory over Towson in RMU's 2012 season opener. She followed by scattering seven hits and allowing just one run while striking out six against the host Camels in a 5-1 win. The next day, Sleith earned her third win of the weekend by yielding just three hits and striking out five in a 1-0 win over Ohio.
