Jaci Timko enters her second season as a graduate assistant for Robert Morris University softball. The program’s all-time leading hitter assists in a variety of areas, including recruiting, practice planning and team travel.

In her first season on staff, Timko helped the Colonials to their third-consecutive Northeast Conference regular-season title by virtue of their 16-4 record within league play. RMU won at least 30 games for the second straight year, including a doubleheader sweep of local rival Pitt. Three Colonials won a major postseason award from the NEC in 2013 while a fourth was selected All-NEC First Team.

Timko is arguably the program’s best all-time hitter as her career .359 batting average is the top mark in program history. Her combination of great power and speed helped her earn a trio of All-NEC awards in her career. In addition to batting average, Timko also broke the school’s career runs scored record and tops the charts with 130. She also ranks second in career hits (201) and home runs (27) and fourth in career RBI (92). Timko is also the only Colonial to own at least three of the top 25 single-season batting averages in school history.

While making her mark on the diamond, Timko also earned recognition for her performance in the classroom. In addition to being named Academic All-District once, Timko earned the NEC Softball Scholar-Athlete of the Year honor after her senior season.

A native of nearby Houston, Pa., Timko earned a Bachelor of Science degree in psychology from Robert Morris in 2012. She then earned a Master of Science degree from RMU in instructional leadership in 2013.
