Game Notes - Saint Francis vs. Robert Morris (9/15/07) 

? The game marked the return of head coach Joe Walton to the sidelines after a one-game absence, as Walton missed RMU's 20-17 victory @ Monmouth (9/8/07) due to the death of his wife, Ginger ... The Colonials improved to 11-2-1 all-time against Saint Francis ... Robert Morris also improved to 2-0 in Northeast Conference play for the second straight year and eighth time in 12 seasons the league has sponsored football.

? After entering the game without a takeaway in its first two games of the 2007 campaign, the Colonials forced the Red Flash into five turnovers on the afternoon, including four interceptions of Saint Francis quarterback George Little  ... Senior safety James Kazil (Georgetown, Pa. / South Side) recorded two of RMU's four interceptions and now owns eight on his career ... Senior cornerback Mike Niklos (Columbus, Ohio / Bishop Watterson) recorded his first pick of the 2007 campaign and now owns 14 career interceptions, which is tied for second in the RMU career records and tied for third in the NEC career annals (with former Colonial defensive back Nick Downs) ... The first turnover of the day for the Red Flash was a fumble by wide receiver Antoine Rivera, with sophomore outside linebacker Adam Lawrence (Big Run, Pa. / Dubois Area) coming up with the recovery for the Colonials.

? Robert Morris was also solid in regard to its defense of the pass, as the club recorded 13 pass breakups on the afternoon ... Niklos recorded four pass breakups to lead the Colonials, while Kazil and senior linebacker Chad Wengert (Kempton, Pa. / Kutztown) each recorded a pair.

? A pair of Colonials scored their first collegiate touchdowns in the win, as freshman running back Myles Russ (Boca Raton, Fla. / West Boca) rushed for a pair of scores, while sophomore tight end Chris Molnar (Murrysville, Pa. / Franklin Regional) hauled in a two-yard touchdown pass ... Saint Francis quarterback George Little was sacked three times on the afternoon, as junior defensive lineman Shannon Smoot (Columbus, Ohio / Bishop Hartley) posted one and-a-half sacks, while Wengert, senior defensive lineman Kelvern Grant (Ft. Lauderdale, Fla. / Hallendale) and sophomore defensive lineman James Murphy (Monroeville, Pa. / Gateway) each had a half a sack.

? Robert Morris was a perfect 4-for-4 in red-zone opportunities against the Red Flash and now have opened the 2007 season by scoring eight straight times when reaching the red zone ... Dating back to the 2006 campaign, the Colonials have converted 16 straight trips in the red zone (12 touchdowns, four field goals) ... Saint Francis finished with 305 yards of total offense compared to 249 for Robert Morris ... The Colonials were just 3-of-15 on third-down conversions but held the Red Flash to 4-for-15 in the same category.

? Senior flanker Mario Hines (Ecorse, Mich. / Ecorse) finished with 174 all-purpose yards on the afternoon, pushing his season total in the category to 549 yards ... Junior quarterback Erik Cwalinski (Jacobsburg, Ohio / Shadyside) has now thrown at least one touchdown pass in five straight games, the longest stretch of his career.
