Senior Marissa Polk of the cross country team earns the Higher Images RMU Female Student-Athlete of the Week honor for Oct. 22, 2014. It marks Polk’s first honor of the 2014 campaign and fourth of her career. At the Canisius Alumni Classic in Buffalo, N.Y., this past weekend, Polk, a native of Pittsburgh, Pa., navigated the five-kilometer course in a time of 18:51.2 to claim the individual title and help Robert Morris finish third out of five squads. Polk’s time ranks 12th in school history for a five-kilometer course, and she outlasted Catherine Phillips of the host Golden Griffins, who finished second with a time of 19:00.1.Â
