A record-setting performance at the 2015 Northeast Conference Indoor Track & Field Championships garners Bethany Ledford the Higher Images RMU Female Student-Athlete of the Week for Feb. 25, 2015. It marks her second honor in the last three weeks. Ledford successfully defended her title in the pole vault and in the process established both school and an NEC championships record when she posted a leap of 3.75 meters (12’3.50”) on her second attempt. Ledford, a native of Huntingdon, Pa., broke a record that had stood for over 10 years, as the old mark of 3.74 meters came in 2004 and was posted by Mandy Jenkins of Mount St. Mary’s. The individual championship marks Ledford’s third at the NEC Championships, as she also won the event at the 2012 NEC Outdoor Track & Field Championships.
