Earning the second consecutive Peoples Natural Gas RMU Male Student-Athlete of the Week nod from the hockey team is junior forward Daniel Mantenuto, who follows last week’s honor of Eric Israel. In a road split with Sacred Heart last weekend, Mantenuto came up huge in the second game of the series to help Robert Morris salvage the split. The Colonials entered the third period trailing, 1-0, but Mantenuto assisted on the tying goal at 15:50, as Alex Tonge scored to knot it up. In overtime, Mantenuto teamed up with Tonge to assist on Michael Louria’s marker at 2:43 to give RMU the 2-1 victory and stay over .500 in Atlantic Hockey. In 14 games this season, Mantenuto, a native of Thornhill, Ontario, has supplied the Colonials with nine points thanks to three goals and six assists.
