Named the Chick-Fil-A Robinson RMU Male Student-Athlete of the Week for Dec. 15, 2021, is senior forward Kahliel Spear of the basketball team. In a 1-1 homestand for the Colonials last week, Spear averaged 18.5 points and 10.5 rebounds while shooting 78.9 percent (15-for-19) from the floor and 75 percent (6-for-8) at the free throw line. Spear, a native of The Colony, Texas, recorded a double-double in each of the two games at the UPMC Events Center, posting 17 points and 10 rebounds in a 99-51 victory over Lancaster Bible (12/8) before pacing the Colonials with 20 points and 11 caroms against Florida Gulf Coast (12/11/21). He also compiled four assists, four blocks and a pair of steals in the two games. Overall on the 2021-22 campaign, Spear, an economics major who has compiled a 3.94 cumulative grade point average (GPA), is providing team-high averages for RMU in both scoring (13.7) and rebounding (8.3).
