Earning his second consecutive Chick-fil-A Robinson RMU Male Student-Athlete of the Week is fifth-year forward Kahliel Spear of the basketball team. At the Hostilo Hoops Community Classic last week in Savannah, Ga., Spear paced the Colonials in their three games, averaging a double-double while shooting an even 50 percent (21-for-42) from the field. He recorded averages of 18.7 and 10.3 rebounds in games against Mercer, Evansville and South Alabama. Spear, a native of The Colony, Texas, opened the tournament with a season-high 24 points to go along with nine rebounds against Mercer (11/25/22) before notching double-doubles against both Evansville (11/26/22) and South Alabama (11/27/22). Overall during the 2022-23 campaign, Spear is averaging 12.7 points and 8.4 rebounds in seven games, each as a member of the starting lineup.
