Fifth-year pitcher Dana Vatakis of the softball team has been selected as the Chick-fil-A Robinson RMU Female Student-Athlete of the Week for May 10, 2023. She shares the honor with sophomore teammate Alaina Koutsogiani. In a three-game road sweep of Cleveland State last weekend to conclude the 2023 regular season, Vatakis finished 2-0 from the circle in a pair of complete games, not allowing an earned run in 14 innings. For her efforts she was named the Horizon League Pitcher of the Week (5/8) and the next afternoon was named to the 2023 All-Horizon League First Team (5/9). Overall during the 2023 campaign, Vatakis, a native of Monessen, Pa., has posted a record of 10-10 from the circle with a 2.13 earned run average (ERA).
