Box Score The Robert Morris University field hockey team traveled to Seton Hill University Friday afternoon to take on Bellarmine (10-5). The loss drops RMU to 2-12 on the season.
Bellarmine opened the scoring 7:30 into the game when Michelle Esterle scored off a pass from Reghann Covert. Junior midfielder Shawna Kushner (Shippensburg, Pa. / Shippensburg) scored just 6:00 later to tie the game at one all. With just 12:14 remaining in the half junior defender Andrea Tasker (Duncannon, Pa. / Susquenita) scored giving the Colonials their lone lead of the game. The Knights stormed back tying the game just 2:00 later when Megan Brake scored, Sara Roney and Sloane Hubbuch assisted the goal.
Esterle scored her second goal of the game 8:00 into the second half giving the Knights the lead for good. Hubbuch picked up an insurance goal by scoring on a penalty stroke with 10:00 remaining in the game.
Junior goalkeeper Kate Dunlap (Centerport, Pa. / Schuylkill Valley) made four saves for RMU.
The Knights out shot the Colonials, 12-5, and held a, 9-3, edge in penalty corners.
The Colonials will look to pick up their first conference victory when they begin a three-game home stand to close out the season, Sunday October 22. RMU will face-off against Siena at Joe Walton Stadium at Noon.
