Women?s Ice Hockey Swept By #1 Mercyhurst

Box Score Pittsburgh, Pa. - Despite the 55-save performance from Sophomore Brianne McLaughlin (Sheffield Village, Oh. / Ohio Flames), the Robert Morris University women's ice hockey fell to # 1 Mercyhurst 5-0 Sunday afternoon at the RMU Island Sports Center.

McLaughlin's 55 saves is only second to her performance in the 2005-06 inaugural season when she made 57 against Mercyhurst on March 4, 2006.

Mercyhurst slowly built up the score picking up one goal in the first period, two in the second and capped off the game with two in the third. Three of their five goals came on the power-play, while one was short-handed.

Valerie Chouinard and Meghan Agosta combined for five points in the game, Chouinard with two goals and Agosta finishing with two goals and an assist.

The Colonials (5-12-2, 0-2-0 CHA) return to action on January 3, 2007 against Sacred Heart for a two-game series at the RMU Island Sports Center.
