RMU Falls to Georgetown 2-1

Washington, D.C. - The Robert Morris University field hockey team dropped a hard fought game, 2-1, to Georgetown, Sunday afternoon at Kehoe field.

Lauren Sheets opened the scoreing for Georetown at the 26:03 mark, when she scored off of a penalty stroke following an RMU foul.

Sophomore forward Sarah Shcrott Quarryville, Pa. / Lancaster Christian) scored her second goal of the season four seconds before halftime to tie the game at 1-1. The goal was assisted by junior midfielder Jessica Hammaker (Enola, Pa. / East Pennsboro) and freshman defender Jessica Charles (Lancaster, Pa. / Lampeter-Strasburg). The assist was Hammaker's second on the season and Charles's first.

With just under five minutes remaining in the game Georgetown's Chelsea Aiken scored the game winning goal. Megan Cellucci and Willemijn Wijsman recorded the assists on the goal.

Junior goalkeeper Kate Dunlap (Centerport, Pa. / Manheim Central) made nine saves on 11 shots.

Georgetown held an advantage in shots 29-7 and penalty corners 18-7.

Robert Morris, under the guidance of third-year head coach Lisa Bell, returns to action Friday, September 15, when they play host to Radford. The match is scheduled to start at 3:00 p.m. at Joe Walton Stadium.
