Moon Township, Pa. - The Robert Morris University women's tennis team opened the spring portion of its 2006-07 schedule Saturday with a 7-0 loss to Niagara. The defeat drops the Colonials to 1-5 in dual matches so far this season.
At No. 1 singles, sophomore Kali Delorie (Canonsburg, Pa. / Peters Township) dropped a 7-5, 6-0 decision to Vanja Lakic, while fellow sophomore Katie Kravits (Pittsburgh, Pa. / Thomas Jefferson) fell at the No. 2 flight, 6-0 and 6-1, to Jennifer Cremieux. In doubles action, Delorie and junior Libby Shaw (Lower Burrell, Pa. / Burrell) fell to Cremieux and Molly Mathews at the No. 1 flight, 8-2.
RMU is next in action Saturday, Feb. 3, when it welcomes Bucknell to the Oxford Tennis Courts North in Wexford, Pa., for an 11:00 a.m. non-conference match.
