Moon Township, Pa. ? Senior Christian Boucher (Orleans, Ontario / Cumberland Grads) and junior Jason Towsley (LaSalle, Ontario / Leamington Flyers) were named College Hockey America Defensive and Offensive Players of the Week, respectively, after the Robert Morris University men's ice hockey team defeated #9 Boston University and Wayne State at the Nye Frontier Classic.
Boucher picked up his fourth career CHA Defensive Player of the Week honor, by recording a 1.08 goals against average and a .963 save percentage last week. Boucher recorded both Colonial victories last week against Boston University and Wayne State. He allowed only two goals and made 52 saves, including 33 against BU and 19 against Wayne State.
This marks Towsley's first CHA weekly honor. He scored the game-winning goal against Boston University with just under 10 minutes remaining in the game. He also picked up a goal and two assists against Wayne State, helping the Colonials clinch the Nye Frontier Classic Championship.
The, 2-0, Colonials return to action Oct. 19-20 as they travel to Madison, Wisc. to take on the 13th ranked Badgers.
