Quotes - Robert Morris @ Quinnipiac (1/5/08)
Head Coach Mike Rice:
"We found a way, but I certainly wasn't thrilled 52.4 percent of the time, because that's what they shot from the field. We're fortunate tonight that our whole team went out of their mind from three-point range. We hit shots. They had trouble containing us off the bounce and went to zone a little bit, and we're moving the ball and finding the open man. I'll give the guys credit. We took open shots. We can shoot open three's. It's not the way I want to win. I want to to defend, I want to rebound and I want the score in the low 40s for our opponent, but any road win in the NEC, I'll take it."
Rice on the play of senior forward A.J. Jackson:
"I welcome the game A.J. brought tonight. You know, he's averaging four less minutes from last year, but he's still getting the same amount of touches, and he'll tell you he just wasn't putting the ball in the basket. He got off to a good start and even when he missed a few shots during the middle of the game he kept shooting, and I want that. I think the big difference is he's playing at the five spot more than last year, and maybe he hasn't been as comfortable. It's an adjustment, and maybe I need to get him out of there so he float on the perimeter more. He hit a big three-pointer for us in the second half. Tonight was a breakout game."
