Box Score Lock Haven, Pa. - On Sunday afternoon the Robert Morris University field hockey team traveled to take on NEC opponent Lock Haven at Charlotte Smith Field. The Lady Eagles, who are the defending NEC Champions, played strong on both sides of the ball to hold Robert Morris scoreless and earn a 5-0 victory.
Lock Haven tallied four goals in the first period and fired 14 shots in the opening 35 minutes of play. Only two players scored the five goals for the Lady Eagles.
Lock Haven was led by junior Suzann Hobart, who recorded her first hat trick of the season. Two-time NEC Player of the Week Blair Wynne also added two goals, each of which came off penalty corner plays.
Overall, Lock Haven outshot Robert Morris 26-1. Junior Jessica Charles (Lancaster, Pa. / Lampeter-Strasburg) recorded the only shot for the Colonials. Freshman Stephanie Seeley (Louisville, Ky. / Ballard) made 10 saves in goal.
Robert Morris will continue NEC play Friday, Oct.17, on the road at Monmouth in West Branch, N.J., for a 4:00 p.m. tilt.
