Quotes - Robert Morris @ Sacred Heart (2/28/08)
Head Coach Mike Rice:
"I wish all of our listeners could see the locker room. From Tony (Lee) and A.J. (Jackson) and Freddie (Harris) and everyone hugging each other. From where they've come, to 24 wins, to an NEC regular season championship, to three home games in the NEC Tournament, a lot of emotions were exhausted in that locker room. It was a special moment. It's not done, though, without one through 14 on our roster. Every student-athlete on our team contributes in a different way."
Rice on the play of senior forward A.J. Jackson:
"It's funny because you could see it in his post moves. He was strong in the paint. I can't tell you how hard he played, and how many little things he did that hurt Sacred Heart tonight. He made championship plays. The upperclassmen have done a good job of turning this thing around, and A.J. has been a leader in that department. He responded with one of his best games of the year."
Rice on Sacred Heart's late run:
"Sacred Heart is a good team with tremendous perimeter shooters, and you just knew they were going to make a run. We didn't panic, though. We just went to our next possession and picked our shot and attacked. That's when it's nice where you have a senior like A.J. (Jackson) step up and hit a shot the way he did."
